What is KACEE?


One of the first and largest conservation and environmental education organizations in the nation, KACEE is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 1969. KACEE’s diverse statewide partnerships network includes more than 700 organizations, business, agencies and schools and 350 individuals. At the core of our work is environmental education professional development. Since 1970, KACEE has provided professional development for more than 21,000 educators, impacting an estimated 350,000 Kansas students. KACEE also coordinates the Kansas Green School network, working with over 450 schools and 19 school districts from across the state in engaging students to lead the way in creating greener and healthier schools.   • To serve as a medium for the exchange of information among member agencies and organizations interested or working in environmental and resource-use education.
  • To provide a medium through which programs may be cooperatively developed to promote and encourage the teaching of an understanding of the environment and responsible us e of resources.
  • To serve through our Board of Directors as an advisory council to the Kansas State Board of Education.
