Kansas Forest Service

The Kansas Forest Service (KFS) is one of KACEE's longest-standing state agency partners — and one of the most visible. Together, we bring forest and environmental literacy to educators and students across Kansas through co-sponsored programs, professional development, and shared resources.

Shared Programs

Co-sponsored by KFS and National Project Learning Tree, PLT uses forests as a lens for understanding environmental systems. KACEE facilitates PLT workshops for Kansas educators, giving teachers standards-aligned, inquiry-based tools for the classroom.

KACEE Events Sponsored by KFS

The Kansas Forest Service is a long-time sponsor of the Annual EE Conference and the Annual Excellence in Conservation and Environmental Education Awards Celebration.

About the Kansas Forest Service

Established in 1887, KFS is the nation's fifth-oldest state forestry agency. Based near Kansas State University in Manhattan, KFS supports rural landowners, communities, fire districts, and industries across the state through programs in conservation tree planting, fire management, community forestry, and forest health.
