Water is the building block of life and connects every living thing on our planet. KACEE is honored to be recognized for our commitment to conservation and education with the Success Story Award at the Governor’s Conference on the Future of Water in Kansas on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
The 'Success Stories' Award celebrates organizations that are taking extraordinary measures to conserve, reuse or adopt better practices to help ensure the future of our state’s water resources.
The Kansas Water Office recognized KACEE’s decades of leadership in water education and outdoor learning through this award, which recognizes long-term impact, not just single projects. KACEE staff are honored to be recognized for the decades of work the organization has dedicated to equipping educators and students with the knowledge and tools to understand and care about water in Kansas.

Through initiatives like Project WET, which KACEE has facilitated in Kansas since 1996, thousands of educators have gained tools to bring water literacy into classrooms and connect students to outdoor learning experiences.
KACEE’s environmental education efforts create positive impacts across the state by building partnerships with schools, communities, and conservation groups. An important example of this work in action is the Water in Our Community eeCredential, co-developed by KACEE and Friends of the Kaw. Collaborations like this one ensure that outdoor learning and water stewardship remain central to Kansas’s future, reinforcing why the Kansas Water Office and Governor Laura Kelly honored KACEE with a 'Success Story' Award.
Join us in continuing this important work in our state—support our programs, register for an eeCourse or eeCredential, or share this story to inspire others to value water, the building block of life!
