Advancing Environmental Literacy Small Grants --Deadline Passed

The Environmental Education Associations from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska are seeking environmental education proposals from eligible organizations for grants of up to $5,000.

The four state environmental education associations, the Iowa Conservation Education Coalition (ICEC), the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE), the Missouri Environmental Education Association (MEEA) and the Nebraska Alliance for Conservation and Environmental Education (NACEE) received a $150,000 grant from the U.S. EPA Environmental Education Sub-Grants program (NE97734101). With this program, we are soliciting proposals and will award sub-grants to organizations for projects that contribute to regional goals for environmental literacy and building capacity for environmental education in the four state region, while supporting the EPA’s educational and environmental priorities. For several years, these four states have been working together to advance environmental literacy. This grant programs offers us a unique opportunity to make significant strides and strengthen the region’s leadership role in environmental education. By focusing funding efforts and seeking opportunities to maximize synergistic efforts, this small grant program has the potential to initiate significant and long lasting change. With a total budget of over $200,000, this project is one of the most far-reaching environmental education initiatives underway in the Midwest. If the selected projects are intentionally and successfully synergistic, they will come together to build a lasting and supportive foundation for environmental literacy in the region.
