Water celebrations are an effective educational tool because they involve local citizens in a water education event that addresses locally important water resources and issues.

The goal of the Statewide Water Celebrations Project is to gather information about water celebrations from the state's innovative water celebration organizers, and develop a resource sharing network to help recruit and assist new water celebration organizers to serve all 105 counties in Kansas with a water celebration event.

KACEE's Statewide Water Celebrations Program can provide several resources to assist you in developing a water celebration event to serve the water education needs of your local school district or community.

Resources available through the project include:
Kansas Festival Field Guide, an online directory of Kansas water celebration events
Project WET and Wild Aquatic: Focus on Festivals Workshops
Start-up Grant Funding of up to $2500.00 per county served
Idea Pool, a networking e-newsletter for water celebration organizers
Technical support for water celebration planning from KACEE's Statewide Water Celebrations Coordinator and Water Celebration Planning Committee
A Water Celebration Resource Guide compiling field-tested tips, templates, and activities for water festivals
